Scope: This policy applies to all group rides, bike shop rides, and club rides organized listed on our website.

Ride at Your Own Risk

  • Personal Responsibility: Participation in any ride is at your own risk. Riders are solely responsible for their safety and well-being during the ride.
  • Rules of the Road: Riders must know and adhere to all local traffic laws and cycling regulations. It is the rider's responsibility to stay informed about these rules.
  • Preparation: Ensure your bike is in good working condition, and you have the necessary safety gear, such as helmets and lights.

Liability

  • Changes and Cancellations: PTB is not liable or responsible for any changes in routes, ride times, or other ride details. These changes can occur due to various reasons, including weather, road conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Accidents and Injuries: PTB is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or damages that occur during the rides. Participants are encouraged to have their own insurance coverage.
  • Third-Party Events: For rides organized in collaboration with other clubs, bike shops, or organizations, PTB is not responsible for the actions or policies of these third parties.

Information Accuracy

  • Best Knowledge: The information provided by PTB regarding ride routes, times, and other details is to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication.
  • Verification: Riders are encouraged to verify the latest information with the corresponding club, bike shop, or organization hosting the ride. Contact details and links to these entities are typically provided in our communications.
  • Updates and Notifications: PTB will make reasonable efforts to communicate any changes or updates to ride details in a timely manner through our usual channels, such as our website, social media, or email newsletters.

Conduct and Etiquette

  • Respect and Courtesy: Riders are expected to behave respectfully and courteously towards other participants, road users, and the general public.
  • Group Riding Etiquette: Follow standard group riding practices, such as signaling turns, maintaining a safe distance, and following the lead rider’s instructions.
  • Environmental Responsibility: Dispose of any litter properly and respect the natural environment along the ride routes.

Health and Safety

  • Hydration and Nutrition: Bring sufficient water and snacks to stay hydrated and energized during the ride.

Equipment and Preparation

  • Flat Kits: It is encouraged to bring a flat kit with you at all times. This should include a proper inner tube, tire levers, a patch kit, CO2 cartridges with a valve, or a pump. Even if you don’t know how to use it, someone in the group may be able to assist you.
